Name’s Josh, I’m a student and software developer currently living in Washington. I dream code, beautiful, beautiful code… well… not always, but I try. I started in 2000 when in 6th grade when I decided I could make a better website than those silly professionals. So I ordered a book from one of the Scholastic fliers we would always get and within days of receiving the book I had a website up and running on GeoCities (rest in peace).
At some point in middle school I learned about PHP and started learning about how to script. Upon entering high school I met an older boy who helped me learn much more about creating websites like how to set up DNS. Together we created a website where we organized and reviewed freeware software.
Towards the end of freshmen year I was paralyzed from the waist down. I took that as an excuse to spend even more time in front of the computer. My skill with web programing grew and so did my general knowledge of technology. In high school I began to learn about Linux, and programing in C++. I also took classes in computer aided drafting and videography. Like some, I went through my dark hacker days in high school, even ‘accidentally’ gaining access to teacher’s grade books.
After graduating high school I started attending Skagit Valley College, a local community college when I currently work and still attend class. I attend physical therapy three times a week with hope that one day I will walk again. In school I am close to completing an Associate in Science in Computer Science.
